New Suicidal Birds album

SPEND YOUR LIFE IN SERIOUS MISERY is the third SUICIDAL BIRDS album. After the highly acclaimed Z-list and Versus Life albums this electro/punk/blues duo from the north of Holland's new album defines the Suicidal Birds sound even more perfect. Two girls on guitar/vocals and bass along with their old fashioned drum machine are all it takes to send listeners on a rollercoaster ride to both heaven and hell. As always the lyrics display a cynical view of life and the music sure is not pretty; this is confrontational stuff; punk as it always was mend to be; screaming the inner blues out in your face. But the Suicidal Birds also know when to hold back on the gas peddle and give a false hope of some relieve but the sweeter the songs sound the more confrontational the lyrics get. 14 brand new songs recorded in the Suicidal Birds garage and produced in that true DIY spirit.

The Release party was held in Paradiso-Amsterdam on January 7 and at Vera Groningen on January 8.

SPEND YOUR LIFE IN SERIOUS MISERY is de derde CD van the Suicidal Birds. Na de goed ontvangen Z-List en Vs Life Cd’s heeft dit nieuwe album van het Electro punk blues duo uit Friesland alles in zich om de sound van The Suicidal Birds nog beter uit de doeken te laten komen. Twee meiden op gitaar/zang en bas met een oude aftandse drumcomputer is alles dat je ervoor nodig hebt om luisteraars in een achtbaan door zowel de hemel als de hel te krijgen. Zoals altijd verraden de teksten van The Suicidal Birds een cynische blik op het leven. De muziek is zeker niet mooi; dit is confronterend materiaal, punk zoals punk altijd bedoeld was; de blues wordt er recht in je gezicht uitgeschreeuwd. Maar The Suicidal Birds weten ook heel goed wanneer ze het tempo wat moeten temperen maar geven in de songs waarin dat gebeurd een valse hoop op wat verlichting; hoe zachter de nummers klinken hoe meer confronterend de teksten worden.
14 gloednieuwe nummers opgenomen in de home studio van the Suicidal Birds en in de onvervalste DIY geest geproduceerd.

De releaseparties zijn in Paradiso en Vera gehouden op 7 en 8 januari.
De pers heeft Tocado overladen met aanvragen voor promo's dus je mag binnenkort een hoop recensies verwachten.
